EVS Procedure for volunteers from abroad

Dear Volunteer, we are glad that you wish to volunteer for one of our projects. In this section you will find all the necessary steps that you will need to take to submit your application for the selection procedure.

Before we start, we invite you to have a look at the site of "Youth in Action" Programme to be more familiar with the programme and its Action 2, the European Voluntary Service. Already informed about it? Excellent! Let's start.

- First, we suggest you to careful read the project descriptions. You will notice that it includes also information about the availability of each project;
- Second, be sure that you have a Sending organization. If you do not have one, please contact one of our branch in Europe (see the list in the www.sciint.org, the international site of SCI). If no SCI branch is present in your country, look for an EVS sending organization (possibly contact an official SCI partner);
- Third, fill in a CV (Europass) and a motivation letter. In the motivation letter please include information about your interests, skills, previous experience, the reason why you apply and the contribution you might offer to the project. Please specify the project you intend to apply for (possibly one page in Word format);
- Fourth, send the CV, motivation letter and information about your Sending Organization to evs@sci-italia.it. You can also ask your Sending Organization responsible person to send the whole documents to us on your behalf.

How do we select the EVS volunteers?
We receive many applications for our projects, therefore it is very hard to provide each volunteer or sending organization with a quick answer. Please do not be disappointed if you will not receive any reply from us.
We will contact the selected volunteers and their Sending Organizations by phone or e-mail, usually three/four months before the project starts.
If the volunteer is still available, we will proceed with the EVS procedure. Please keep in mind that it is very important to be available for the whole project after the official agreement between the volunteer, the sending and the hosting organization!
